This report presents a comprehensive Social Return on Investment (SROI) and impact assessment of the Utthan WASH Programme (2020–2025), sponsored by Apcotex Industries Limited, facilitated by EdelGive Foundation, and implemented by Utthan across six tribal villages in Valia Block, Bharuch District, Gujarat. Evaluated by Impactree Data Technologies, the study measures physical infrastructure, behavioral shifts, health outcomes, and institutional governance improvements across 360 target households.

Key Performance Highlights

• Sanitation Access: Functional toilet coverage increased from 30% at baseline to 100%, resulting in a 91% reduction in open defecation.

• Water & Health: Doorstep daily tap access reached 95% of households, driving down major medical expenses from 71% to 22%.

• Women Leadership: 87% of surveyed women actively participate in civic decision-making through local Mahila Mandals and Pani Samitis.

• Environmental Sustainability: 70% of households adopted water conservation practices, supported by 209 soak pits, 315 washing platforms, and 60 kitchen gardens.
